Hi, I am Merilyn and I have owned Scissortrix for 31 years. I really can’t believe it has been so long. I feel very fortunate to have so much passion for hairdressing, my lovely clients and my business. I enjoy all aspects of hairdressing however I do consider myself to be a curly specialist. I have naturally curly hair myself so understand the unruliness and behaviours of curly hair. I also love colouring and the cutting of a good short graduated haircut. I enjoy the challenge of colour correction. If you have a colour problem, I am here to help with my 35+ years of experience. In my spare time I enjoy the outdoors and keeping fit. I go to the gym and I enjoy mountain bike riding. I have two sons who keep me on my toes and young at heart.

Hi I’m Kylie I’m a master stylist and I have been apart of the Scissortrix family for 14 years now in between leaving to travel abroad, and again to start my family. I just keep appearing! I work part time in the salon and love it! The work I am most proud of is seamless blondes/ Balayage and my absolute favourite is complete colour changes and restyles. Being a hairdresser and making my clients feel/look amazing just makes me realise so often why I love my job and how rewarding it really can be! Building client relations, listening and creating fantastic service is so important to me. When I’m not at the salon I’m hanging with my little lady who keeps me on my toes. I really enjoy exploring new places when I can and love a bit of DIY and crafts in my spare time.

Hi my name is Georgia, I am a master stylist here at Scissortrix! I've been in the industry for over 10 years. What I love most about hairdressing is making people feel amazing! I enjoy long & short hair cutting & styling as well as free hand balayage. I’m a very bubbly person and motivated to always learn more. I've recently had a baby girl - Riley and am really enjoying being a new mum! I enjoy spending my spare time with my friends and family and I’m also a bit of a wiz in the kitchen. I’m looking forward to meeting you all soon.

Hello! My name is Rosie, I’ve been in the industry coming up 5 years, and love all things hair! I especially love balayage (both blonde and brunette), and a bit of vivid work. Sharp bobs also have my heart! Having studied a Bachelor of Business (marketing) before deciding to jump into hairdressing, you will often find me around the salon filming content or editing for our socials! Outside of the salon, I love socialising with friends, concerts/gigs/festivals, 4wdriving, and exploring new places. I’m so excited to meet you all, and help to give you all a luxe experience and hair that you love!

I'm Rachel and I've been in the industry 9 years. I am a North Island girl, and I have just relocated to Christchurch this July and loving it! In the salon I love doing bespoke blondes, creative colour and fashion haircuts and styling. I am a huge animal lover and although I no longer am on a farm, my cat and dog are great for company and some comic relief! In my spare time I like adventuring out my dog, but am mainly a homebody. I can't wait for my new chapter at Scissortrix and I am looking after all the lovely guests. I love the feeling of watching the clients walk out happy with a pep in their step - nothing better than a good do!

Hello, I'm Jess and I've come back to the hairdressing industry after being drawn back in by the creativity and warmth that it brings to peoples lives. I enjoy using new sectioning techniques and different ways to paint on colours for different results. It's amazing to see different results in every outcome and creating new ideas in your head, using them and seeing the result thus increasing your skillset and knowledge by exploring techniques. I love that there are always new things to learn and new challenges to keep you on your game, no two days are ever the same. In my personal time I like to go out for dinner, drinks and listen to music with friends, go out for long trail walks and hanging out at home with my two cats. The environment in a busy salon has a pumping and exciting energy to it and there are always new and interesting people to meet and pots if familiar and loyal faces thatvyouve built bonds with over time. At the end of a busy day in the salon your normally sore and tired but it also makes you feel like you've achieved something and its fulfilling.
